To request deletion of your Yappr account and all associated data, please send an email to:
What Gets Deleted
When you request account deletion, all data associated with your Yappr account will be permanently removed from our systems. This includes your account credentials, all child profiles, audio recordings, learning progress, and any other data stored on our servers.
What to Include in Your Request
To process your deletion request quickly, please include the following information in your email:
- Account Email: The email address associated with your Yappr account
- Child Profiles: Number of child profiles under your account (if applicable)
- Reason for Deletion: Optional, but helps us improve our service
- Confirmation: State that you want to permanently delete all data
Important Information
This Action is Irreversible
Once your account and data are deleted, this action cannot be undone. Your child's learning progress, badges, and streaks will be permanently lost. Make sure to export any progress reports before requesting deletion.
Processing Time
- Account deletion requests are processed within 7 business days
- You will receive an email confirmation once deletion is complete
- Audio recordings are immediately deleted upon request
- Some backup data may take up to 30 days to be completely removed from all systems
Before You Delete
Consider these alternatives:
- Export Progress Data: Use the app's export feature to save your child's learning progress and achievements
- Delete Specific Audio: You can delete individual audio recordings without deleting your entire account
- Pause Learning: You can simply stop using the app without deleting your data - accounts remain active indefinitely
- Contact Support: If you're having issues with the app, we might be able to help resolve them
Parental Control Options
Parents have granular control over data without full account deletion:
- Delete individual audio recordings from practice sessions
- Remove specific child profiles while keeping others
- Disable audio recording permission (limits app functionality)
- Turn off cloud synchronization and use offline mode only
Local Data
Please note that data stored locally on your device will need to be deleted separately:
- Uninstall the Yappr app from your device
- Clear app data from your device settings (Android) or delete and reinstall (iOS)
- Delete any exported progress reports you no longer need

Special Considerations for Children's Data
Because Yappr is designed for children aged 6-14, we take extra precautions:
- Immediate Audio Deletion: All audio recordings can be deleted immediately upon parental request
- Parental Verification: We verify parental identity before processing deletion requests to protect against unauthorized deletions
- Notification: Parents receive confirmation emails at each stage of the deletion process
- No Marketing Retention: We do not retain any data for marketing purposes after account deletion
