Request Account Deletion
To request deletion of your Finz account and all associated data, please send an email to:
What Gets Deleted
When you request account deletion, all data associated with your Finz account will be permanently removed from our systems. This includes:
- Your account credentials (phone number, email)
- Stock watchlist and favorite stocks
- All price alerts and notification preferences
- Corporate action tracking history (dividends, splits, bonus issues, rights issues)
- Quarterly results viewing history
- News feed preferences and reading history
- Search history and usage data
- Device tokens and push notification settings
What to Include in Your Request
To process your deletion request quickly, please include the following information in your email:
- Registered Phone Number: The phone number associated with your Finz account
- Email: Your email address (if provided during registration)
- Reason for Deletion: Optional, but helps us improve our service
- Confirmation: State that you want to permanently delete all data
Important Information
This Action is Irreversible
Once your account and data are deleted, this action cannot be undone. Your watchlist, price alerts, and all tracking history will be permanently lost. Make sure to export any data you want to keep before requesting deletion.
Processing Time
- Account deletion requests are processed within 7 business days
- You will receive an email or SMS confirmation once deletion is complete
- Push notifications will stop immediately after deletion request is confirmed
- Some backup data may take up to 30 days to be completely removed from all systems
Before You Delete
Consider these alternatives:
- Export Watchlist: Use the app's export feature to save your watchlist and price alerts
- Clear Specific Data: You can clear individual watchlist items or price alerts without deleting your entire account
- Disable Notifications: You can turn off all push notifications without deleting your account
- Pause Usage: You can simply stop using the app without deleting your data - accounts remain active indefinitely
- Contact Support: If you're having issues with the app, we might be able to help resolve them
Data Control Options
You have granular control over your data without full account deletion:
- Delete individual stocks from your watchlist
- Remove specific price alerts
- Clear your search and viewing history
- Disable push notifications for specific types of alerts
- Turn off corporate action tracking for specific stocks
Local Data
Please note that data stored locally on your device will need to be deleted separately:
- Uninstall the Finz app from your device
- Clear app data from your device settings (Android) or delete and reinstall (iOS)
- Delete any exported watchlist files you no longer need
Financial Data Clarification
Important Note:
Finz does not store any banking information, demat account details, or brokerage credentials. We only track your stock watchlist and preferences. Deleting your Finz account does not affect your actual investment portfolio or brokerage accounts.

Your Rights
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data under various privacy laws including:
- India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023
- GDPR (for EU users)
- CCPA (for California residents)
- Google Play Store and Apple App Store policies
Verification Process
To protect your account from unauthorized deletion requests:
- Identity Verification: We may send an OTP to your registered phone number to verify your identity
- Email Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation link before deletion is finalized
- Grace Period: You have 7 days to cancel the deletion request after confirmation
- Final Notification: You will receive a final notification before permanent deletion
What Happens After Deletion
- Your phone number and email will be permanently removed from our database
- You will stop receiving all push notifications and alerts
- Your watchlist and price alerts will be permanently deleted
- You can create a new account with the same phone number in the future (starting fresh)
- We will not retain any personally identifiable information
Important Disclaimers
No Data Sale or Misuse
We want to be absolutely clear: We do NOT sell, trade, rent, or monetize your data in any way. We have never sold user data and never will. Your data deletion request is processed to permanently remove your information from our systems, not transferred or sold to any third party.
Data Retention for Legal Compliance Only
After deletion, we may retain minimal anonymized data (without personal identifiers) only if required by law, regulation, or for fraud prevention and security purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you and is retained only to the extent legally required.
No Liability for Data Deletion
By requesting account deletion, you acknowledge and agree that:
- We are not responsible for any loss of data, watchlists, or alerts after deletion
- You have exported or backed up any information you wish to retain
- Deletion of your Finz account does not affect your actual investments or brokerage accounts
- We are not liable for any consequences arising from the deletion of your account
- Once deleted, we cannot recover your data
